TV on mobile

Once again Japanese market is surprising the world!!!

Those Japanese keep shocking the world with the new inventions. Mobile phone users, for the first time can enjoy watching digital TV over their mobile phones, but the phone has to be newest version Symbian compatible. There is not many phones that are fully compatible with this new option on the market and even if there is a phone like this, it can be afforded only by mister Trump and his friends if you know what I have in mind.

Huge Japanese television companies are already signing some papers of partnership with major mobile operators, but no one is charging for this new service STILL. I’m sure that pretty soon, it will become a hit and make a huge amount of money to the above mentioned group of people.
CEO of Japan’s number one mobile operator NTT DoCoMo said: “In the short-term, digital terrestrial broadcasting on mobiles with the same programming as normal televisions will be of little interest for us, but we are getting ready by preparing new specific content for the service that could come into use later when new channels are available.”

Whoever is subscribed to this service can watch up to three hours of television without interruptions with a normal mobile phone battery.

Family locator

Locate your entire family in one second with extraordinary Family locator

Sprint Nextel, third ranked mobile phone operator in USA, offered a new service that allows its users-parents to pinpoint exact location of their children. The users-parents will be able to track down their kids over the phone or computer. They will have build-in map and a small dot showing exact location of their loved ones. New age is coming :)

Users may also request an additional feature to receive an SMS every now and then carrying the important location information, and will allow parents to know if kids are at school or hanging out with the other kids in a local bar or gaming lounge…

Above mentioned “Family locator” was first established to help operators earn some extra bucks (like they needed that), because they were already obliged to have a locating technology within their phones so that emergency services may be able to track down people in danger. I believe they said: “Let’s make something “useful” out of it” :)

When a parent locates a child, child receives an SMS that his mum or dad just “ran up a check on him”. Mobile packages and special family deals became a key of success of many American mobile phone operators. There is a gigantic increase in mobile phone sales for the operators with those special family deals over the past year. 60% of all the customers in one of the largest mobile phone operator in US are special “family package” customers.

Despite the fact this new age “Sprint” company service, the success is not entirely guaranteed since the monthly payment for this amazing service is $9.99.

Maybe we should all consider joining this firm, and buying a new phone with this new technology not to our sons and daughters, but to our wives. Eh? What do you say? :)

Mobile phones versus Digital cameras

Bloged in Info by loodackum Wednesday April 19, 2006

ABI Research firm discovered that the mobile phones with built-in digital camera will reach sales power of cheap digital cameras within 2 years or even less.

Researchers found that buying a phone with 1.3 mega pixel camera will be unavoidable if you’re into owning any mobile phone type in couple of months because of the huge development of new generation mobile phones, and next year will be sold more then digital cameras with VGA resolution. Further on, large mobile phone companies will produce mobile phones with 2, 3, 4 mega pixel cameras and they will accomplish to destroy digital camera market. According to Kenet Hayers from ABI Research, within two years, the quality of digital cameras in mobile phones will be extraordinary, so that the users wouldn’t even consider buying “one featured” digital camera when they can have all in one gadget for the same price.

Researchers found as well that mobile phone market will be organized and sorted according to the overall quality. Major mobile phone companies have different style and approach to the world market. For example, Motorola prefers producing cheaper models which are more accessible to mobile phone lowers, while Sony Ericsson, Samsung and of course Nokia produce phones with cameras, mp3 players and even chips that can bring the SonyPlaystation type of graphics to the games on the tinny phone screen.

Those forecasts confirm data from another research company called IDC, that even if there is an increase in digital cameras selling, their selling tread is lower then it was and is getting even lower every day. In the first half this year, digital cameras market grew 20% if compared to first half previous year. Last year, the same period, increase in sale was 50% and the year before that even more.

So there you have it. Cannon and the other leading camera developers will be a bit worried to hear this, but I’m sure they will come up with something or they would have to consider joining the new era. Mobile phones era.
